Norfolk status Local. Pine plantations and other places where the foodplant grows. Can be attracted to light, but can also be disturbed from the foodplant by beating.
Leaf-mine: September - May. Feeds on the needles of Scots Pine, and less commonly on Larch, in the autumn. After hibernation feeds on spun needles and shoots. The larvae can cause sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas.
