Norfolk status
Scarce.
Added to the British list in 1970.

Records from 1992 (bred M. Emmet), and near Suffield in 2013 (bred K. Saul, Gen. Det. D. Hipperson) with very few additional bred leaf-mine records in recent years.

Adult moths are similar to P. salicicolella and weakly marked specimens resemble P. viminella.

Leaf-mine: July, September - October
Large lower surface mine, causing the upper surface of the leaf to fold. very similar mine to P.hilarella. Please rear through potential mines and obtain determination on this species.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
