Norfolk status
Widespread.
Coarsely scaled, purplish forewings an irregular yellowish fascia.

Leaf-mine June-July. Sept-Nov.
Variable mine, both highly contorted and parallel gallery often creating a false blotch.

DNA barcoding has revealed a species complex with two occurring in the UK. (Nieukerken, Mutanen and Doorenweerd 2012) The authors indicate that more research needs to be done on this complex.

When recording mines, please note the egg position (upper or lower surface of the leaf) for future reference.
