Status Scarce. Introduced with azalea and rhodedendron plants, now spreading throughout southern Britain.
First Norfolk record in Norwich, 8th May 2000. Reported to be widespread in the gardens of Hoveton Hall in 2012 (S. Wright). Noted that out of the 250 varieties of Rhododendron at Hoveton, so far only found on Hatsugiri, with leaf rolls found on all of the plants checked.
