Easily confused with I. masculella.
Males of oehlmanniella have simple antennae unlike I. masculella.

Yellow marking on costa, present in both sexes, is nearer wingtip than adjacent tornal spot.

Leaf-mine: July - Aug.
Small blotch mine elongated to form a linear mine. Case cut from end of blotch. Larvae feed on dead leaves on the ground.
