Distinctive purple and gold forewings

Leaf-mine: Larvae mine the leaves of foodplant June-Aug. This is the last Birch Eriocrania leaf miner to occur, and care must be taken to distinguish between this species and E.salopiella. The larvae have distinctive cloudy spots on the prothorax.
