Norfolk status
Rare.
Distinct white costal streaks and larger than the similar Mompha subbistrigella.
Dry areas - waste ground, heathland and urban areas. Hibernates over winter.
Confirmed in Britain in Surrey in 1950 and has since spread gradually.

First Norfolk record in 2005, bred from galls in Rosebay Willowherb collected during a field meeting at East Ruston Common. (Beaumont, 2005)

First generation larvae form a gall within the stem. The second generation feeds either in a seed pod, or in a gall.

Recorded in 5 (7%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 2005.
Last Recorded in 2023.
