Local.
Very similar to Anacampsis populella

One of two species that can only be reliably separated by dissection of the genitalia.

Larvae feed on Birch in May and June in a leaf rolled longitudinally along the mid-rib.
A. blattariella has also fairly recently been bred (and confirmed by dissection) from Alder (Alnus glutinosa) at Upton Fen VC27. (M.R. Young, det. S. Palmer, 03.vi.2012)
