Scarce.
Found at sandy coastal locations.

Recent records from Caister, Great Yarmouth and Winterton including larval records on Common Mouse-ear.


Old Victorian records of Caryocolum proxima on Little Mouse-ear (Cerastium semidecandrum) are now thought to be a misidentification of Caryocolum alsinella.

Verification Grade Comment: There is no difference in the female genitalia between C alsinella and C viscariella
