Norfolk status A fairly common species of rough-ground where thistles grow.
Dissection recommended if moth recorded from coastal sites and has not been bred. The pointed forewing and dark brown/reddish/greyish colouration, occasionally with indistinct streaking and black speckling around the wing tip, are usually indicative of this rather variable species.
