Norfolk status
Widespread and reasonably common throughout much of Britain in damp meadows and woodland rides.

One of three members of the former Cosmiotes genus now recorded in Norfolk.

Elachista stabilella: frons and head white contrasting with the thorax.
Elachista. freyerella and Elachista consortella: frons and head grey, appearing concolorous with the thorax.

Forewing dark with distinct white fasciae, however specimens can show less contrasting markings and are almost inseparable from other Elachista.


Leaf-mine: March to April and in July.
