Norfolk status Probable new resident, most likely expanding from Suffolk and Cambs.
The moth is a large bronze coloured species that is readily identified by its orange eyes and pair of eyelashes.
This species colonised Suffolk from the south during the 2010s. First recorded in 2004.
New for Norfolk in 2020.
Added to the Norfolk list in 2023 from a specimen trapped at Wymondham (Ed Parnell, 03/06/23 - New VC27). Subsequent re-examining of old photos has uncovered an earlier specimen from Great Ellingham VC28 in 2020. (C. Knott, 21/05/20)
