Zimmermannia atrifrontella: Found in woodland in south-eastern England from Kent to Wiltshire and Dorset.

Zimmermannia longicaudella: Trapped in Britain for the first time in Buckinghamshire on 12 July 2009

Both species mine in the bark of Oak and are indistinguishable from each other in this stage.

Mines were found on Oak collected in February 2016 from the Norfolk side of the river at Santon Downham (Ian Barton/Kathleen Rosewarne, 21/02/16)
Determined by Erik van Neiukerken in November 2017 as one or other of the two known Oak-bark mining Zimmermannia (=Ectodemia) species.
