Distinctive moth with dark spotted two tone wings, brown and pale silvery white.

Active in afternoon and evening sunshine and occasionally comes to light.

Breckland and coastal areas, grassland, heathland, waste ground, downland, roadside verges and coastland.

Leaf-mine: June-July, October-April
silvery gallery.
