Unknown.
Mainly a westerly distribution in England and Wales, where it is local in damp, shady woodland.

Adult moths are day-flying and similar to the other fern feeding Psychoid, P. filicivora but show a violet tinge and lack the white tornal spot.

New for Norfolk in 2014 when several specimens where collected and bred from Phyllitis scolopendrium (Hart's-tongue Fern) in a Heacham garden. (P. Cobb, collected 10/04/14, emerged 13/05/14)

Leaf-mine: Mines the frond at first, then feeding in sporangia in the spring, Most common on Phyllitis (Hart's-tongue Fern)

Last Recorded in 2020.
