Norfolk status Rare migrant / adventive. The first records of this species in Britain were at Tresco, Isles of Scilly in 2001, Devon in 2007 and Hampshire in 2010.
Thought to be introduced through accidental importation of plants from Asia. No evidence of breeding in the UK.
Recorded in Norfolk at Bawdeswell in 2014 (D. Appleton, 10/06/14) and three in Costessey in 2016 (M. Casey, 16/08/16) Specimens possibly originating from nearby garden centres.
New for VC28 in 2024 at Toftwood (D. Norgate, 08/09/24)
