Found very locally in woodland throughout Britain possibly associated with bramble.

One pre 1900 record from Norfolk listed by Barrett at Merton.

Smaller than similar Lampronia capitella and has a dark head.

Specimen netted at Ashwellthorpe VC27 in 2014 (A. Musgrove, 10.v.14)
