Local.
Coastal and estuarine salt marshes.

Markings of the forewing vary considerably.
Moth rests amongst sea aster and other plants.
Restricted to salt marshes along the eastern and southern coasts of England.

A few inland records in recent years (please retain for confirmation if recorded away from the coast)
