Scarce.

Characteristic black longitudinal streaks, and pale raised scale-tufts, although similar to certain forms of A. hastiana.

Formerly a rare species, occurring infrequently in scattered woodland habitats in the south of England.
Recorded more frequently in recent years, and has extended its rage. The first Suffolk records in 2018 and 2023.

Adult moths are on the wing from July - August and October - April, hibernating as adults over the winter. The larvae feed on Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Bird Cherry and Rowan, living within a spun or rolled leaf.
