([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)1044 / 49.083
Norfolk status
Very variable woodland species.
Resembles A. notana. Separated by examination of the genitalia.

A small black tuft of scales a short distance from head is not reliable for determination (as suggested in some literature) as both ferrugana and notana can show these.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Recorded in 26 (38%) of 69 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1874.
Last Recorded in 2020.
