Nationally scarce (Nb) on grassland in parts of south-eastern England.
New for Norfolk in 2016, recorded at Castle Acre (10/06/16, B. Heckford, S. Beavan) One of three members of the former Cosmiotes genus.
Elachista stabilella: frons and head white contrasting with the thorax.
Elachista. freyerella and Elachista consortella: frons and head grey, appearing concolorous with the thorax.
Forewing dark with distinct white fasciae, however specimens can show less contrasting markings and are almost inseparable from other Elachista.  | Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required. | |
