Found where foodplant occurs in dry open areas in south and south-east England, from Devon to Lincolnshire.

Adults netted at dusk flying about Viper's Bugloss (Echium vulgare) at Weeting in 2013 (I. Barton, K. Rosewarne, 25/06/13) and Cranwich Heath (S. Wright 30/06/13)

Leaf-mine: The larvae feed within stems of Viper's Bugloss, over-wintering in a cocoon.

First VC27 record of larval frass found in stems of Viper's Bugloss at Aldeby in 2013. (T. Prichard, 11/06/13)
