Status
Spreading rapidly.
First seen in the UK in 2014 when several larvae and cocoons were spotted on a Fig tree in Hyde Park, London. Since then it has spread to Kent and was recently recorded in Essex and Suffolk.
The larvae feed on Fig trees and cause damage very similar to that of Choreutis pariana the Apple-leaf Skeletonizer. The adult moths emerge in the autumn and hibernate.
New for Norfolk in 2021 when feeding signs were found on Fig trees along the Suffolk coast up to Caister-on-sea, Norfolk.
Larvae were bred out to confirm. (A. Wren, Oct 2021)
