Status Widespread. Small clearwing, with yellow collar and three (female) or four (male) yellow cross-bands. Can be seen around foodplants by day in sunny weather. Fruit farms, allotments and gardens. Male comes quickly and in numbers to the specific pheromone lure.

Like many of the clearwings was formerly considered scarce, but due to the increased availability of pheromone lures is apparently much more common and widespread than previously thought.
