Scarce immigrant.
Recorded mainly September to November.
First record from Norfolk in 1988 when a larva was found on an exotic orchid given to a patient at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. The specimen was bred out by G. Haggett and produced a female moth on the 12th March 1988.
The specimen was determined by Dr I. Kitching (BMNH) as an unusual form of Chrysodeixis chalcites. (see article below)
The most likely confusion species is Tunbridge Wells Gem, not recorded in Norfolk.  | Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required. | |
