Svensson's Copper Underwing tends to be duller and less contrasting than Copper Underwing. It used to be called the Drab Copper Underwing!
The underside of the hindwing is considered the most reliable distinguishing feature, the orange suffusion diffuses beyond the black cross-line on the hindwing.
