Status Rare. Possibly locally extinct. Meadows and damp marshes.
This species is notorious for capricious appearance and disappearance; it enjoyed a boost in numbers in the 1970s when it was so plentiful in neighbouring Lincolnshire that dozens could be found in outhouses as they fluttered at the windows at dusk, indeed more were to be found that way then ever came to the trap. Moths continued to be noted in the Breck until the mid 1980s. G. Haggett.Verification Grade Comment: Possibly locally extinct | Determination by Genitalia Examination Required | |
