Status Rare Immigrant. Only recorded twice in Britain
First known UK record is of a specimen reared by Frank Norgate from egg or larva on White Poplar obtained in North Norfolk in the latter part of the summer of 1882. (Ent. Rec. 19. 1907) Initially identified as Great Prominent it was later recognised by C. Barrett. (Ent. Mag. 23. 1886/88) A Female specimen is in the BMNH labelled "Bred by F.
