Norfolk status
Rare.
Unknown in Britain until 1965. Occupies bramble (Rubus) thickets in deciduous woodland and very rarely moves far from these bushes.

Records from 1989 - 1991 from a single woodland site in Norfolk. Unfortunately all bramble was removed from this site shortly after the discovery of the species! Rediscovered at the site in 2009.

Recorded along the Waveney valley in 2011/12. (B. Jones, 09/07/11), West Caister in 2013 (B. Jones, 09/07/13) and Winterton (M. Crossfield, 17.7.13).

Unusual mid-Norfolk record at Hindolveston in 2018, miles from nearest colony.

Resent records suggest it is moving up the coast, and could be found anywhere with large clumps of Bramble.

Also recorded at Waveney Forest, Norfolk (VC25 - Suffolk) in 2011.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.

Recorded in 9 (12%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1989.
Last Recorded in 2024.
