Norfolk status Locally Scarce. Moorland, bogs, heathland. Broad, rounded, grey with blackish markings on forewings. f.suffusa found in N England, and very locally in Norfolk. Its nearest occurrence to Norfolk is the Staffordshire moorlands!
Modern day records only known from Roydon Common, and since 2000, at Desingham bog NNR. Two larvae taken in the broads pre 1874, one of which was reared. C. Barrett (Trans. 1874) "The moth is unquestionably this species. Had i not seen it I should have felt great doubt of the propriety of including this northern species in the Norfolk List."
