Norfolk status
A new adventive to Britain, first taken at light in Putney, London in 2016.

One of three very similar species in the genus Plesiomorpha found in Asia. Plesiomorpha vulpecula, P. punctilinearia and P. flaviceps. Larvae all feed on Holly (Ilex sp.) especially Japanese Holly Ilex crenata.

Female caught by Stephen West on the night of 09.ix.2023, via actinic trap at Walpole Highway VC28. Gen. Det. by Keith Kerr.

Recent reports from Europe suggest this species could become established in the UK similarly to another recent Asian import, the now widespread Box-tree Moth Cydalima perspectalis.
