Scarce Immigrant.

First recorded in Britain on the Isle of Wight by Dr K.G. Blair in 1946. Most migrants recorded in southern England. Large influxes to the UK have been recorded on good migrant years, with 25 records from 1969 and over 100 in 2006.
More frequent in recent years, with 200+ per year often seen on the south coast where it is now established as a localised breeding species.

Only three Norfolk records, 1985 at Norwich (R. Pointer) 1990 at Weeting (P. Cardy) and 2022 at Litcham (K. Kerr)
