Norfolk status
Local.
A formerly scarce species whose distribution is now largely restricted to south-east England. Considered to be widespread and relatively common in Norfolk in hedgerows, woodland fringes and ditches.

The larvae feed on Hop, often found where it climbs to form aerial foliage which occurs in the numerous wetlands of Norfolk. Several recent records also from around Norwich.

Recorded in 57 (77%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1873.
Last Recorded in 2024.
