=Rough-winged Conch

Norfolk status
A large and distinctive species that should present little confusion. Forewing rough scaled with tufts and raised scales present. Note the large white inward oblique marking at the median fascia.

Woodland species often seen flying around dusk. Well recorded in Norfolk with widespread records from along the North coast and inland.
Flies mainly in May and June with several records going into the first weeks of July.
The larvae feed on the flowers, berries and stems of White Bryony.

Recorded in 50 (68%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1874.
Last Recorded in 2023.
