Norfolk status
Relatively plain brownish in appearance with silvery-grey striations toward the rear.
The moth flies in the afternoon sunshine, found in rough meadows and quarries, chalk downs, sandhills, embankments and waysides.

Recorded as "Local but common" at Breckland sites in 1884. (C. Barrett)

After a gap of many years, recorded at Caister in 2010 (K. Saul, D. Hipperson, 21/05/10) and multiple sites in 2012 including Narborough (J.Wheeler, 25/05/12) and Wiggenhall St Mary Magdalen (C.Sheppard, 10/06/12), annual since but in low numbers.

Good side photo (males only) otherwise dissection required for identification.

Verification Grade Comment: National Grade 4 - Worn specimens / females will need dissection.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.
