Widespread.
Heathland, woodland, grassland, hedgerows, scrub and fen.
Does not feed on Oak, but is so-called because the shape of its cocoon.
Males fly during the day, females are nocturnal.

First Recorded in 1834.
Last Recorded in 2024.
